Custom Commerce Platform
Built a fully customised eCommerce solution without relying on Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or third-party CMS platforms.
We developed a custom real-time business intelligence dashboard that unified data from ERP, warehouse, logistics, finance, and sales systems into a centralized analytics platform. Replacing static reports with live dashboards updated every 60 seconds gave leadership instant visibility into inventory, deliveries, sales, forecasting, and key KPIs. The solution accelerated decision-making, reduced reporting effort, improved forecasting accuracy, and enabled proactive supply chain management.

This project involved replacing an increasingly unstable CMS-based online store with a fully custom eCommerce platform engineered specifically for speed, scalability, and complete business flexibility. As the retailer expanded rapidly across India, recurring server crashes, slow page speeds, plugin conflicts, and checkout failures began affecting customer experience and limiting revenue growth. The existing platform could no longer support flash sales, large product catalogues, or rapidly increasing traffic volumes.
We designed and developed a headless, microservices-driven commerce platform capable of processing more than 10,000 orders every day while maintaining sub-second page performance and enterprise-grade reliability. Every component—from product management and inventory to checkout, payments, fulfilment, analytics, and customer personalisation—was custom built to eliminate platform limitations, reduce operating costs, and create a future-ready commerce ecosystem that could scale alongside the client's business.
Built a fully customised eCommerce solution without relying on Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or third-party CMS platforms.
Engineered infrastructure capable of handling more than 10,000 daily orders and heavy promotional traffic without downtime.
Reduced page load times dramatically using modern frontend architecture, caching, CDN delivery, and microservices.
Delivered unlimited customisation across products, pricing, checkout, fulfilment, analytics, and customer journeys.
Before development began, we analysed customer behaviour, infrastructure bottlenecks, server utilisation, checkout performance, database queries, payment workflows, product catalogue management, SEO limitations, and marketing integrations. Load testing simulations and infrastructure audits identified the technical limitations responsible for slow performance during peak shopping periods.
Platform performance should always be validated using GA4, server monitoring, application performance metrics, order management dashboards, conversion reports, uptime monitoring, customer behaviour analytics, and cloud infrastructure insights after deployment.
As online sales increased, the retailer experienced recurring performance issues that affected customer satisfaction and revenue. Flash sales regularly overwhelmed the platform, plugin conflicts caused instability, and infrastructure costs continued increasing while performance declined. Marketing campaigns generated significant traffic, but the technology stack struggled to convert visitors into completed purchases.
Traffic spikes frequently caused downtime during promotional campaigns and seasonal sales.
Slow order processing and payment interruptions increased abandoned carts and customer frustration.
Heavy reliance on third-party plugins increased maintenance complexity, security risks, and operating costs.
The existing architecture could not efficiently support growing traffic, orders, or product catalogue expansion.
The retailer wasn't facing a marketing problem—it was facing a technology bottleneck. Customer demand continued growing, but the underlying commerce platform lacked the flexibility, speed, and scalability required to support sustained business expansion.
Our technical audit evaluated every stage of the customer journey, including homepage performance, search, product browsing, inventory management, checkout, payment processing, shipping workflows, and reporting. The findings highlighted where custom development could remove platform limitations while improving scalability and operational efficiency.
Evaluated application performance, database structure, infrastructure scalability, and service dependencies.
Analysed payment workflows to reduce friction and improve successful transaction completion rates.
Designed real-time stock synchronisation and automated inventory updates across fulfilment operations.
Defined dashboards for customer behaviour, sales performance, conversion tracking, and operational reporting.
Instead of relying on a traditional CMS and dozens of third-party plugins, we developed a modular e-commerce ecosystem where every business function operated independently while remaining fully connected through secure APIs. Product management, inventory, customer accounts, payments, promotions, shipping, recommendations, search, and analytics were built as separate services, allowing individual components to scale automatically without affecting the rest of the platform. This architecture eliminated common bottlenecks associated with monolithic systems and provided the flexibility required for continuous feature development.
Separated core commerce functions into independently scalable services for maximum reliability.
Optimised the purchasing journey with fast APIs, intelligent caching, and streamlined payment processing.
Implemented auto-scaling, load balancing, monitoring, and deployment pipelines for uninterrupted availability.
Delivered real-time dashboards covering sales, inventory, customer behaviour, marketing attribution, and operational performance.
Analysed customer journeys, sales workflows, infrastructure limitations, catalogue complexity, and scalability requirements.
Designed the headless commerce architecture, microservices framework, database structure, APIs, and user experience.
Built commerce modules, integrated payment gateways, inventory systems, analytics, logistics APIs, and recommendation engines.
Performed stress testing with high concurrent traffic, optimised infrastructure, completed production deployment, and monitored post-launch performance.
The client's rapid growth required greater scalability, complete backend control, faster performance, and the flexibility to build custom workflows that traditional CMS platforms could not efficiently support.
Performance was monitored using application analytics, infrastructure monitoring, order processing metrics, checkout conversion data, page speed reports, GA4, operational dashboards, and business KPIs.

Yes. The microservices architecture supports independent scaling, allowing new features, products, traffic, and regions to be added without disrupting existing operations.
Not always. Businesses experiencing rapid growth, high transaction volumes, complex operational requirements, or extensive customisation needs benefit the most from a fully custom-built commerce platform.
